At Northwood Animal Hospital our goal is to provide our clients with the best care for their pets in the area. We are happy to provide cost estimates for all of our services. During treatment unforeseen circumstances may arise which may alter the original estimate. We do our best to keep clients informed of additional costs as they are incurred.

Care Credit

Care Credit gives you the flexibility to make payments towards your pet’s healthcare bills.  Please click HERE or ask one of our representatives for more details or to apply for Care Credit. Please note this is not an in-house bill system provided by Northwood Animal Hospital, instead this is a third party company that subject to credit approval will allow you to charge services on account.

ALL FEES MUST BE PAID IN FULL AT THE TIME OF SERVICE OR UPON DISCHARGE OF YOUR PET. AN INITIAL DEPOSIT MAY BE REQUIRED FOR SURGICAL PROCEDURES AND HOSPITALIZED CASES.

There will be a $35 service charge for all return checks.  Any account turned over to collections after 60 days past due will be assessed an additional fee of up to 40% of the balance due or $100 whichever is higher.  All outstanding balances past 30 days will receive a billing/finance charge.

We can't control price increases by our suppliers.  Any prices shared via internet, email or by telephone are for rough estimate purposes only, and will not be honored unless a written estimate is provided by the client from us.  If a more detailed and exact amount is needed in regard to a procedure or cost of services clients are encouraged to ask our team members for a written estimate.

Statement from NAH Management: In today’s market, Pricing Strategies drive consumer’s purchasing decisions.  This is why our practice proactively prices services and inventory products competitively.  Research is made from online sources as well as local sources, to ensure we can provide our clients with the best possible value.

Most of the time, our prices are comparable to, if not less than, those of online sources such as “1800-PetMeds, Chewy.com, and Foster & Smith,” to name a few. We are able to offer products shipped straight from the manufacturer/distributor without jeopardizing the safety of your pet due to unknown product conditions, invalidity of manufacturer guarantees, and possible diminished efficacy due to unknown origin of products from online sources.

Lastly, NAH is a family owned and operated business, which means your trust and patronage is greatly appreciated, and allows us to help over 30 families in our community.  We thank you for thinking local and shopping local.  (This section was updated Jan 2021)

PRESCRIPTION SCRIPTING REQUESTS & ON-LINE PHARMACY REQUESTS

Unfortunately, many pet owners do not know that issuing a prescription (s) for their pet (s) isn't quite as simple as pulling out the pad and a pen.  Sometimes the size of medications in the human and veterinary fields can vary, so our Doctors will have to look up what may be available somewhere else in order to ensure your pet's safety.  Sometimes our Doctors have to tweak the dose if we're changing medication.  We also need to take time to record the prescription in the patient's medical notes so that we can track it appropriately and any other doctors that see the records after that can know exactly what medications the pet is taking.  In some locations we have to do extra recording for controlled substances.  All of this takes time from our Doctors and/or support staff from helping out patients.

DEPOSITS FOR SURGERY/DENTAL PROCEDURES 

(Revised April 2023)

Surgery and Dental procedures now require $100 deposit when scheduling the procedure. This deposit will be applied towards your total bill at checkout on the day of your pet's procedure. If you cancel your pet's procedure more that 48 business hours in advance, the deposit can be refunded. If you cancel less than 48 business hours prior to the procedure date, the deposit will taken as a cancellation fee.  If rescheduling your pet's procedure more than 2 weeks in advance the deposit will be rolled over to the rescheduled date. If the procedure is rescheduled less than 2 weeks in advance an additional $50 reschedule deposit will be required. This deposit will add onto the existing deposit, and will be applied towards your total at checkout on the day of your pet's procedure. 

Late Arrivals* / Client Initiated Re-schedules* / No Shows*

If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, your surgery/dental could be rescheduled. Rescheduled surgeries/dental will incur the $50 reschedule deposit.  If you do not show up for your surgery/dental, all deposits paid will be taken as a "No Show" fee.
